About the Therapist

A little about me:

I grew up on a cash-crop/hobby farm in West Bend, WI with my parents, one brother & one sister (both older).  I have always had a strong passion for animals, nature and outdoors.  In my high school/college summers, I worked at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and did some work with a researcher on the Bonobo (a great ape) at the Milwaukee County Zoo.

That love of nature carried through to a degree in Biology from UW-Stevens Point.  I held a strong desire to travel and do outdoor research projects at that time.  I was grateful to travel to New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Costa Rica and the Western U.S. through college programs.  Life changed a bit when a special someone entered my life.  Tom & I married in 1999 and my desire to start a family trumped the desire to travel & have short-term research jobs.  We knew we wanted to raise our family in the country and provide a life of nature and animals for them.  We found an old farmstead to call our own just outside of Stevens Point (between Amherst and Rosholt).

Massage Therapy became a passion of mine after I found myself living a life confined by pain experienced from 2 roll-over vehicle accidents.  That was when I first was made aware of whiplash, the devastating effects it has on the body and how pain can trap a person from allowing them the chance to be whole.  Having always held an interest in holistic healing, I decided to attend school to become a Massage Therapist.  I felt it would be a wonderful way to help people deal with the pains & stresses of this world.

The same year I graduated Massage School (2001), we found the animal that would fit our farm & lifestyle - The Alpaca. They are gentle & incredible animals who fill my soul everyday.
The Natural Connection Massage Studio also carries Alpaca Products!!

Our life wasn't complete until we welcomed our 4 beautiful children into this world - Anna (17), Eli (16), Sarah (14) and Elizabeth (10).  Massage Therapy has been a great fit for me - to be able to be a mother and have the flexibility to share my desire to help those around me.  The kids have also loved their little 'sagges' (as the term coined by our youngest at 2 years old when she couldn't say 'massages').

I have found that caring for our children, our earth, God's creatures and caring holistically for people by providing massage therapy, sharing Plexus Products ~ A Natural Health & Wellness Company who has made a very significant change in my life, fulfill me beyond belief.
I look forward to assisting you on your journey of health!
